Story:

The painting represents the Artist’s Songline of the Fire Dreaming weaving her grandmother’s the Nygabaya or Spirit People Dreaming and her great grandmother the Stone Dreaming from Garrawa Language group. This painting shows the Spirits represented by the 3 figures in the centre of the painting and connect to the Fire Dreaming. The Spirits travel and tell stories and are great educators and creators and the Fire drives growth and energy and they busily work together in this painting for change. The two outer Nygabayas figures travel across country singing stories of healing and growing. The change is represented in the weave of the stones (the white dots). There are large weaves symbolising thinking and feeling then there is the tight weave representing the doing and ebb and flow of change. The central figure represents the complexity and different influencers of change the supporters and those that are not so much. Surrounding these figures are more stones to draw strength, spirituality and resilience.
