Story:

The painting represents my Ancestor’s Stone Dreaming each stone represented by the large cream dots with inner circles represents the artist’s grandmothers. There are seven stone beneath the splashed and dripped white, black and brown paint dripping down the painting symbolising the tears and continued weeping for their loss. There are white drips that flow downwards but at times flow across representing the hardship and difference of the white history or policies. This painting depicts history, sorrow and loss. This painting is to remember and share these stories. Despite this history those that come from this story we draw strength from our Ancestor’s their spirituality and resilience as they lived on and through us with this deep and strong foundation that is rooted within us all from our Ancestor’s histories. The artist has surrounded the painting with the Strone Dreaming to remember and celebrate our strength, spirituality and resilience.
